We were unfortunate to have dealt with a paralegal called William Morris. Whilst our solicitor was exceptional in every possible way, the seller’s solicitor (William) was not. Here are three aspects where he made our home purchase drag for 5 months: - Took over a month to issue and send Leaseholder’s Deed of Certificate to the managing agent of the building which resulted in an additional 1 month waiting period for us. (It is a simple document which can be downloaded online). - Issued expired Insurance Policy certificate to our solicitor which resulted in a 4 week delay of exchange and my wife and I being homeless for 1 month living out of suit cases as our home was already sold. - Due to his slow responses, other parties were chasing him with emails and phone calls and he would avoid them in addition to then restricting communication down to 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Even on those days he would fail to communicate. There are far better solicitors out there - please save yourself your nerves and go elsewhere.
